The Thani Bin Abdullah Humanitarian Foundation announced the launch of the "Sanabel Al Khair" initiative, as part of its vision to solidify the concepts of human solidarity and enhance quality of life by supporting the health sector and serving all segments of Qatari society, including citizens and residents.
The Sanabel Al Khair initiative aims to contribute to achieving human solidarity in the health field by providing sustainable healthcare support to those in need and working to raise health awareness among community members, which will positively impact individual health, family stability, and society as a whole.
This initiative stems from the Thani Bin Abdullah Humanitarian Foundation's commitment to its social role and its dedication to supporting patients and alleviating the burdens of treatment and financial strain they face. This is achieved by providing comprehensive medical assistance and healthcare to those in need, thus contributing to a lasting humanitarian impact and strengthening hope for patients and their families. The foundation draws its humanitarian and voluntary mission from the noble values of our true religion, citing the verse from the Quran: “The example of those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah is like a seed [of grain] which grows seven spikes; in each spike is a hundred grains. And Allah multiplies [His reward] for whom He wills. And Allah is all-Encompassing and Knowing.” (Quran 2:266)
The initiative also seeks to activate the role of volunteer work in the health sector and encourage community members to actively participate in community health initiatives, thereby strengthening the values of giving and social responsibility and supporting national efforts aimed at improving the level of health services and quality of life.
The Thani Bin Abdullah Humanitarian Foundation affirmed that launching this initiative aligns with its humanitarian and developmental mission and its ongoing commitment to creating innovative initiatives that address community needs and contribute to building a healthy, cohesive society based on cooperation, solidarity, and compassion.
The Sanabel Al Khair initiative encompasses a number of health and awareness programs and activities, implemented in collaboration with partners and specialists in the health sector, ensuring the sustainability of its impact and the achievement of its objectives.
Dr. Mohammed Al Janahi, Director of the Sanabel Al Khair project, emphasized that the project represents a humanitarian health initiative launched by the Thani Bin Abdullah Humanitarian Foundation, stemming from its mission to uphold human dignity and promote the right to treatment and healthcare. He noted that the initiative arose in response to a genuine need within the community to support patients facing difficulties in affording treatment costs.
He explained that a number of patients in Qatar face financial challenges in covering healthcare costs, particularly for chronic and rare diseases, complex surgeries, and expensive gene therapies. This prompted the foundation to launch the project as a bridge of hope, alleviating suffering and restoring peace of mind to patients and their families.
He noted that the initiative not only covers treatment costs but also includes surgeries, medications, and medical equipment, in addition to providing psychological and moral support to patients and their families. He emphasized that the selection of beneficiaries is based on a rigorous mechanism that begins with receiving applications through accredited healthcare providers, accompanied by reliable medical reports detailing the nature of the illness and the required treatment. Cases undergo careful review, including health, financial, and social assessments, before being approved by specialized committees operating according to clear criteria that ensure fairness and equal opportunities for all beneficiaries.
Dr. Al-Janahi affirmed the Thani Bin Abdullah Foundation for Humanitarian Services' commitment to achieving the highest levels of transparency in managing the project. This is accomplished through documenting procedures, preparing regular financial reports, and directing aid directly to medical providers without distributing cash to patients. This approach fosters trust and ensures that donations reach their intended recipients with integrity and responsibility. The foundation concluded by reaffirming its commitment to continuing its support for humanitarian and social initiatives, strengthening its role in serving the community, and actively contributing to improving quality of life, based on its deeply rooted values in humanitarian and development work.
The Thani Bin Abdullah Humanitarian Foundation also called upon philanthropists, institutions, and all members of society to contribute to supporting the Sanabel Al-Khair initiative through donations, participation, and contributions to the success of its health programs. This affirms the values of solidarity and compassion, and reflects a belief in the role of charitable work in promoting human health and quality of life, and in participating in creating a sustainable humanitarian impact that benefits the entire community.
